We’re holed up in this Meramec motel in Sullivan, Missouri, taking a day off from driving to collect our thoughts, photos, & audio as well as to plot our next destination.  All this in between dipping in the mini-Olympic-sized swimming pool, reliving authentic food whilst chillin’ in Dolly Parton’s limited edition pink, wooden rocking chair at the Cracker Barrel.  Life is good.

Steak ‘n Shake, Applebee’s, Taco Bell, Burger King, Dairy Queen, American Bison Grille, Domino Pizza, McDonald, Mobile,  Breakfast Drive-Thru, Fas-Trip, Lion’s Choice, China Buffet, Jack-in-a-Box, Homer’s Bar-b-q, Sonic Drive-in, El Nopal, Kara’s Kitchen, KFC, Bobber Travel Center, China King Sullivan, Subway Sandwich, Cracker Barrel & Aldo’s Pizza.  A magnificent motel view, all within reach across the wide expanse of this tarmac island, sandwiched between the old 66 and highway 44.
